Lugum
High in the mountains of Nepal lies Lugum, a remote village known for its traditional architecture and rich cultural heritage. Once a year, shamans from across the district gather here for ancestral ceremonies, keeping ancient practices alive.
Library project
In 2023, a group of friends began a meaningful journey: setting up a library for Bhumi Adarbhut Primary School.
A special shout-out goes to Julika Holthuis and Arun Lama, who initiated this project and carried it forward with so much dedication, care, and love. Their commitment made this library possible.
Coats
Nepalu first connected with Lugum in 2024.
It began that year with a visit to the village alongside a group of musicians who collaborated with local residents to film a music video. This was not a formal Nepalu project, but it reflected the spirit we encourage.
In winter, Nepalu returned with coats and school supplies for the school’s 115 students, aged 4 to 15, as well as its teachers. The school is growing beautifully.
