Bharatpur Street Art Festival

Bharatpur: A City in Bloom

The Bharatpur Street Art Festival is a celebration of creativity, connection, and place. It’s happening in Bharatpur — Nepal’s third-largest city — located in the southern plains, right next to the jungle.

While many visitors head north for the mountains, this part of Nepal has its own quiet magic. The land is green and full of life. Villages are rich in color and tradition. And nearby, the jungle is home to elephants, rhinos, crocodiles, monkeys, birds, and butterflies.

Bharatpur itself is growing quickly. Urbanization is picking up pace, and with it comes more traffic, noise, and change. But nature is still close. Jungle, rivers, farmland — all just a breath away. This city has the potential to grow in a way that honors both its people and its surroundings.

Reimagining the City Through Art

The festival was born from a simple idea: to use art and music to shift focus. Instead of rushing into safaris that disturb the wild, we want to offer something deeper. A chance to pause, reflect, and connect with the culture and nature that already surrounds us.

Street art is our tool. It can raise awareness, spark dialogue, and help people see their city with new eyes. We’ll begin with a pilot project — painting school walls and running creative workshops with kids. Our main focus is transforming the city’s large bridge into a vibrant public artwork, turning a grey structure into something full of color and meaning.

At the same time, we’ll work on small, practical things — like placing painted trash bins around key areas, made together with children, to help address waste and inspire a sense of shared responsibility.

This is just the beginning. Over time, the dream is to create a network of painted paths and bike lanes connecting Bharatpur’s cultural and natural landmarks — from temples to markets to quiet riversides. A city made for walking, cycling, and slowing down.

Let's do it.

The festival will run for three months.
The first two months are for murals, workshops, and community building.
The final weeks bring a celebration of art, music, and shared creativity.

We believe this festival can help Bharatpur grow in a way that’s thoughtful, artistic, and in harmony with the nature that surrounds it.
